1800 METRES OF DRAIN PIPELINE INSTALLATION @ SOUTHEAST ASIA’S LARGEST UNDERGROUND SUBSTATION
Project Information
South-East Asia’s first large-scale underground electrical substation
Location
Government Project @ Labrador, Singapore
Project Scope
Building for an underground substation is resource intensive and requires specialised engineering capabilities. All equipment in the substation must be of low fire risk, with cooling systems to prevent heat build-up.
We were involved in this mega-project to construct drainage system in the raft foundation of basement four (B4). As part of the system, we installed more than 1800 metre length of Ductile Iron pipes and more than 500 accessories.
Our main challenge was to ensure accuracy of all pipelines and accessories as per requirement, before the continuous pour of 4-meter-deep concrete raft foundation (volume equivalent to 14 Olympic-sized swimming pools).
We completed this project successfully within scheduled and with zero accidents.
